Katalis is an independent renewable energy, advisory and project management consultancy.  We offer proactive and integrated consultancy, project management and due diligence services, across the onshore wind, offshore wind, solar, low carbon, storage and bioenergy sectors.  Katalis is made up of a team of professionals with significant experience of project development, construction and operations. 

Our unique blend of technical, commercial and financial knowledge provides the well-rounded, pragmatic and creative approach required for successful energy projects.  We continually develop our services to consider industry best practice and learn from our collective project experience.  Established in 2008, but with over 20 years’ experience in the project development and construction industry, we are an independent, standalone company which allows us to undertake our role on your behalf without any conflict of interest, thereby ensuring that your interests are our primary concern.  Katalis has been responsible for managing experienced teams leading delivery on over £300M of investment into construction and energy projects within the UK and Europe.  Katalis has successfully completed and handed over, 30 projects to operational teams within a 10 year period.  The majority of projects delivered, typically exceed a capital cost of £10M.

RISK MANAGEMENT

  • Construction Risk Assessments and Method Statements
  • Fire Risk Assessments in accordance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and are completed via PAS 79:2007

CHRIS GOULD - DIRECTOR

Chris is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers with a varied experience in power generation and in particular renewable energy within the UK and Europe.  Chris has special focus in development, procurement and construction with particular experience in development of procurement strategies, negotiation and contract management.  He has worked across various technologies includes low head hydro, on-shore and off-shore wind, biomass, reciprocating gas engines and recently battery and EV storage projects.

RYAN DONOVAN - ASSOCIATE

Ryan has worked in the power sector for 25 years across various technologies including landfill gas, onshore wind, hydro, mines gas methane and, most recently, flexible generation using natural gas engines. He has worked on all aspects of the development, construction and operation lifecycle of over 600MW of power projects in the UK including > 5GW of technical due diligence in support of project acquisition, sale and refinancing.  He was formerly Operations Director at Conrad Energy & Head of Technical (Wind) at Infinis.

GARY JOHNSON - ASSOCIATE

Serving in the Fire and Rescue Service for 30 years, Gary rose through the ranks retiring in 2015 as Head of Business Fire Safety for South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, the fifth largest Fire and Rescue Service in the UK. Gary was the Chair of the all-Wales Fire Safety Group, and represented Wales on the Chief Fire Officers Association (now the National Fire Chiefs Council). Gary’s broad and deep knowledge of fire safety, coupled with his experiences as an Incident Commander for the Fire and Rescue Service, permit detailed assessment of fire risk and mitigation, an aptitude he applies to multiple technologies including renewable and flexible power generation, and battery energy storage facilities.
